Jos Buttler was visibly irritated at Bangladesh’s celebrations after England’s stand-in limited-overs skipper was given out lbw on review in a 34-run win for the hosts in Mirpur, which squared the three-match 50-over series at 1-1.
He walked back towards the opposing players before being ushered away by the umpire, later suggesting Bangladesh had been over-exuberant in their celebrations.
And Mortaza and Sabbir have now been fined 20 per cent of their match fees, while Buttler has been reprimanded.
The Bangladesh duo were found to have breached Article 2.1.7 of the code, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match.”
Buttler was ruled to be guilty of “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match”.
All three players have had a demerit point added to their disciplinary records.
