Diego Maradona, Juan Sebastian Veron clash during a ‘Match for Peace’ charity match

Juan Sebastian Veron appeared to trip Diego Maradona during the 40th minute of the game, which was organised by Pope Francis on Wednesday night.
While the two players were leaving the pitch at half time, the Argentina legend Maradona confronted his compatriot Veron and had to be held back by security before going down the tunnel.

However, the pair, who worked together while Maradona was in charge of the Argentina national team, reportedly reconciled their differences at half time and refused to speak about the incident after the match.

The likes of Francesco Totti and Ronaldinho also played in the match, while Stoke City’s Bojan Krkic scored a memorable chip to help Veron’s side to a 4-3 victory.
