Dimitri Seluk was quoted as saying that Yaya Toure’s exclusion from City’s Champions League squad would result in “millions of supporters” from Africa switching their allegiance to Manchester United.
He also called on Pep Guardiola to ‘have the balls’ to apologise for ‘humiliating’ Toure if the team fail to win this season’s Champions League.
In today’s press conference, Guardiola told reporters that Toure will not play for City until he receives an apology from his player’s agent.
“It was so difficult for me to leave [Toure] out of the Champions League squad,” The Mirror quotes Guardiola as saying.
“I know him, he is a good guy, but the day after [Seluk] spoke, he was out. Until he doesn’t speak, he is not going to play.”
Guardiola also sold Toure when the pair were at Barcelona in 2010.
