Liverpool announce signing of Andrew Robertson from Hull City on long-term deal

The 23-year-old, who featured 33 times in the Premier League last season for relegated Hull, was granted permission to return early from the Tigers’ pre-season training camp in Portugal earlier this week to complete a medical at Melwood.

Former Queen’s Park and Dundee United defender Robertson has now finalised his switch to Merseyside, thought to be worth around £10m, admitting that he is struggling to take it all in.

Robertson becomes Liverpool’s third signing of the summer, joining Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah in making the move to Anfield.

The Scotland international will compete with James Milner and Alberto Moreno for a starting spot next season.
