The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer in a deal which could be worth as much as £196m.
The 25-year-old is currently with the Barcelona squad on their pre-season tour of the United States, but he had been due to fly out to Shanghai to promote the club on Sunday.
However, organisers have now confirmed that the event has been cancelled for reasons relating to his proposed move to PSG.
“We are very sorry to inform you that the Neymar Shanghai Meetings, which was scheduled to be held on July 21, 2017, will not happen,” read a statement.
“This is due to the fact that Mr Neymar and his team are busy dealing with his transfer, so the meeting will be cancelled.”
Neymar was also filmed storming out of training earlier today following a clash with new signing Nelson Semedo.
