Paulinho moves to Barcelona for a fee of €40m (£37m) and will have a buyout clause of €120m (£109m).
The 29-year-old Brazil midfielder spent two largely unsuccessful years at Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2015 but enjoyed a more fruitful time in the Far East, scoring 27 goals in 95 appearances for the Chinese Super League club.
Barca said in a statement: “Paulinho will undergo a club medical on Thursday and the signing of the contract and the official presentation of the new FC Barcelona player will also take place on Thursday with the following timetable.”
