Justin Thomas secure second-successive CIMB Classic title in Malaysia

Justin Thomas had to overturn a four-shot deficit to retain the trophy, capitalising on Anirban Lahiri’s poor final-round display as he quadruple bogeyed on the third hole.

Lahiri dropped three more shots across the course of the day, allowing bogey-free the American to pounce and in the end ease to a three-shot victory with a 23-under total.

Still searching for his maiden PGA Tour title, Lahiri finished in a tie for third alongside Derek Fathauer, while a strong finish across the final two holes saw Hideki Matsuyama claim second.

Paul Casey ended in a tie for 21st in Malaysia, meanwhile, and fellow Englishman Ian Poulter was one shot better off in 17th.
