Roberto Bautista Agut stuns Novak Djokovic to progress into Shanghai Masters final

Roberto Bautista Agut had never beaten Novak Djokovic in five previous meetings, but he overcame the disappointment of squandering three match points to eventually win 6-4 6-4.

The World number one was far from his best in his quarter-final win over Mischa Zverev and he was again below-par in the opening set against the Spaniard who secured the only break of serve to move into the lead.

The defending champion continued to be second-best throughout the next set and Bautista Agut appeared on course for victory when serving for the match at 5-3.
However, Djokovic saved three match points before getting back on serve but in the next game, he failed to hold behind his own delivery for the fourth time in the contest as he succumbed to a surprise defeat.
