World number one Angelique Kerber was the only player to avoid defeat in the round-robin phase and appeared at the top of her game in Singapore on Saturday.
The Australian and US Open champion proved dominant from the back of the court as she beat Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 6-1 in an hour and 16 minutes.
Kerber and seventh seed Dominika Cibulkova will now contest Sunday’s final, the German having triumphed in three sets when the pair met on the opening day of the tournament.
The opening three games of the match went against serve, Kerber claiming two breaks to Radwanska’s one.
However, the Pole was soon up against it as her opponent swiftly took charge with a succession of powerful groundstrokes.
It was a similar story in the second set, Radwanska again responding to being broken in the first game by immediately drawing level, only for Kerber to surge clear thereafter.
A seventh break of the Radwanska serve wrapped up victory for the top seed, who will surely take some stopping in the final.
