High jumper Chicherova stripped of bronze medal she won at 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing

Anna Chicherova, who won gold at London 2012, finished third behind Tia Hellebaut and Blanka Vlasic eight years ago, with compatriot Yelena Slesarenko in fourth.
However, the Russian has now been found to have had banned substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol) in her system at the time and has been ordered to return her medal.

A statement from the International Olympic Committee read: “The additional analyses on samples collected during the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 and London 2012 were performed with improved analytical methods, in order to possibly detect prohibited substances that could not be identified by the analysis performed at the time of these editions of the Olympic Games.”
