Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists he will never consider managing Real Madrid

Guardiola spent a large part of his playing career with rivals Barcelona and also started out in the world of management at the Camp Nou, where he won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.

The 45-year-old’s biographer Marti Perarnau told a Spanish radio station earlier this week that Real made an audacious approach for the Catalan while Rafael Benitez was still in charge last November, but Los Blancos then turned to legendary former player Zinedine Zidane.

Asked by reporters if a move to the Spanish capital could be on the cards further down the line, Guardiola said: “I’m a follower of FC Barcelona. I don’t think Real Madrid needs a manager like me and I wouldn’t fit there either.”
