Liverpool’s Coutinho willing to take pay cut in order to push through move to Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho has been heavily linked with a switch to the Camp Nou throughout the current transfer window, despite only signing a new long-term deal at Anfield earlier this year.

Liverpool are reported to have placed a £134m price tag on the Brazilian’s head in an effort to ward off interest from Barcelona, but Sport claims that Coutinho would be willing to slice his basic salary if a deal materialises.

However, the agreement could see the 25-year-old midfielder earn significant bonuses which would raise his salary to higher than what he currently earns on Merseyside.

The Reds are unwilling to sell the playmaker, who scored a career-best 13 Premier League goals last season to help the club back into the top four.
