Lille were mauled by Spanish side Valencia in a Group H UEFA Champions League encounter. Valencia won convincingly beating French side Lille 4-1.

Nigerian Starboy Victor Osimhen scored the first and only goal for Lille but it didn’t do much help to the team as the fell at the hands of the Albert Celades led team.

The first goal came from the Lille Forward in the 25th minute after speeding away from Garay and Gabriel before beating Cillessen.

Parejo levelled in the 66th minutes from the penalty spot after the Referee spotted an infringement by Fonte who handled the ball in the 18-yard.

Things got worse for Lille in 8 minutes, the duration of time Valencia got the remaining three goals. Defender, Adama Soumaoro put the ball in his own net after a powerful cross was sent into the away team’s box by Gaya in the 82nd minute.

Kondogbia made it three in the 84th minute with a powerful shot from about 35 yards.

The game was put to bed by Ferran Torres on the 90th minute clock, the fourth goal from the Spanish side, to compound a disappointing night for Christophe Galtier led team.

Lille sits at the bottom of Group H with a point from 4 matches played.
