Multi-industry company Red Bull have hit racism storm after employees leaked an image from a slide that was part of a marketing meeting that is considered to be offensive and racist
The Austrian company, which is known for distributing energy drinks and sponsoring a large range of sporting events and teams, employs over 10,000 people and had an operating income in the region of £1b back in 2018.
In what could bring large scale criticism against the brand, the leaked slide is said to include a repurposed map that labelled India as ‘call centres’, China as ‘they make our stuff’ and Africa as ‘zoo animals come from here’.
Alongside the leak, which comes after the company were called out for a staying quiet on the Black Lives Matter movement, it is alleged that the map was reported to human resources, but no action was taken.
In a report published by Business Insider, it is suggested that tensions at the company continue to rise in regards to matters of race and inclusion.
The report also mentions that the Red Bull brand have chosen not to comment since#BlackoutTuesday Instagram post back on June 2 about the Black Lives Matter movement.
President and CMO Amy Taylor, is alleged to have said: “We don’t have any further upcoming quotes from the company or entity ‘Red Bull North America’ or ‘Red Bull GmbH,’ but we’ve made it clear where we stand and we will continue to reinforce this with our actions… for the long term.

The company was created back in 1987 when founder Dietrich Mateschitz was inspired by drinks from the Far East.
The empire includes 15 teams across 11 sports, including FC Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Brasil, FC Liefering and Red Bull Racing.
