The attack minded Angels took the fight to the home team with series of attacking diplays led by Ossol Kevine, Diamond Edem and Nwaneme Nwamaka(Stainless).
The Invincible Angels Felt the pressure and had to succumb in the 15th minute as the host’s defence gave in when newly signed Ossol Kevine jabbed home from close range pass from Nwaneme Nwamaka to score the first goal for the Angels.
The host’s lacked bite the first 30 minutes. Chile Isaac came in for Favour Kalu and yet they could not find their rythym as the visiting Abia Angels kept tormenting and created another chance but Bilong Maxi wasted the opportunity when she could not finish a left footed pass from Favour Emmanuel.
Both teams struggled to maintain possession but the visitor’s defence line was well cordinated as the guarded thr goal to preserve the win.
The Center referee Solome Felix from Taraba had to send off the Head Coach of Invincible Angels Adanna Nwaneri for slapping her reserve goalkeeper and with this the first half of the game ended with Abia Angels having a 1-0 advantage.
The second half was a different game entirely with the home team kept pushing for a break but visitor’s defense line proved a hard nut to crack as Magret Ademulegun and Immaculate Edet did a good job by stopping rampaging Favour Kalu from hitting the net when she was freed by Dagogo favour in the 58th minute of the encounter.
Abia Angels came back again into the game when Marcus Grace and Vera Samuel were introduced for Diamond Edem and Bilong Maxi and it almost paid off immediately as Hard tackling Vera Samuel won the ball off a tackle by hitting a long range shot which hit the wood work which and that could have been another goal.
Invincible Angels football club almost got the equaliser when Favour Kalu again struck a 25 yards free kick beyond the wall and goalkeeper Uju Ngwu had to dive to save the goal bound kick for a corner kick which was also well taken care off.
The visiting Abuja Angels had quick exchange of passes between the midfield maestros of rock solid Geraldine Amadi, Vera Samuel and the experienced Favour Emmanuel to set up Nneneme Nwamaka for goal but her effort was to too poor to rattle the goalkeeper of the home team.
The Home team pushed for a goal but it didn’t yield any good result as visitors remained firm and solid as they remained too strong for the home team
Towards the final minutes of the game, Ossol Kevine dazzled pass two defenders in the 85th minute to set up substitute Offor Merit who came in for injured Nneneme Nwamaka who calmly slotted home the ball into the net but it was adjourned as an offside goal by the match official.
Abia Angels football club dominated play and never stopped attacking till the end of the game and they secured the much needed w away win to garner three maximum points for the week 5 of the NWFL and with 7 points from 5 games in the Group D.
The staff of the visiting Abia Angels are worthy of commendation as the showed class and quality. From the Head Coach, Ann Chiejine, Assistant coach Emmanuel Dickson, Goal keeper trainer Ukoha Johnson, Media Officer Chinedu Otutubike and the able team Coordinator Mr Ejiofor. They have always showed maturity in all their games.
