The Swiss ace fought back from a set down to claim the title in front of his home crowd and cap off an incredible year 36-year-old.

He has won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, Indian Wells, Miami Open, Halle Open, Shanghai Masters and now the Swiss Indoors to make it seven titles for 2017.

He had a challenge on his hands after del Potro won the first set on the tie-break but in true Fed-style he came back with style to win the following two sets 6-4, 6-3.

He showed a sign of him that we have not seen for some time, losing his rag and hitting the net in anger after missing a simple volley on a break point.
